Serving Meals to the Homeless & to the Poor.
The St. Charles Salvation Army (SA) soup kitchen is closed on the weekends. Teams of volunteers have been serving Sunday meals outside in the SA parking lot every Sunday since April 2013.
For most of the homeless and the needy this is their only meal for the day. We serve anywhere from 25 to 50 people including families.
Here is the outline for the one hour of serving Sunday meals:
3:45 – setup tables/chairs as our guests arrive
4:00 – We say the blessing - we serve the meals
4:30 – clean up
4:45 – we are done
Just a quick hour of feeding our hungry neighbors!

4th Street & Emmons.)
Come out on any Sunday afternoon about 3:45 and help us serve the meals.
Give us a try, kick the tires and make sure this is right for you. It can be overwhelming at first, but it is really pretty simple – service with a smile.
There are 4 teams of volunteers that
serve once per month.
