Service Projects

Some opportunities on how your church, youth group, friends and families can get involved

We offer opportunities for anyone who wants to help our homeless neighbors.   We have some ideas for projects that would only last a couple hours on a Saturday morning.   These projects are good for all ages.

Toiletries

Package the toiletries in a one-gallon baggie

Shampoo

Toothbrush

Toothpaste

Deodorant

Comb

HOMELESS SUPPLY LIST

Razor

Chap Stick

Mints/Gum

Hand Lotion

Bottle Water

Socks

Washcloth

Soap

Daily Bread

Pocket Bible

Adopt a Family

We are looking for Volunteers to adopt a family and be friends with them and invite them to church.  We need this all year round, especially during the Christmas season.

Sack Lunches

A group could make sandwiches (ham, turkey, bp & jelly, bologna...) along with fruit and a bottle water.

Then help deliver them to the homeless living in hotels.

Serving Meals

There are two opportunities to serve meals to the hungry.

Sunday afternoons

from 4:00-4:30 outside in the St. Charles Salvation Army parking lot.

The St. Charles Salvation Army (SA) soup kitchen is closed on the weekends. Teams of volunteers have been serving Sunday meals outside in the SA parking lot every Sunday since April 2013.

For most of the homeless and the needy this is their only meal for the day. We serve anywhere from 25 to 50 people including families.

Salvation Army Soup Kitchen

Lunch & Dinners inside the St. Charles Salvation Army soup kitchen.

For most of the homeless and the needy this is their only meal for the day. We serve anywhere from 25 to 50 people including families.
